Before The Painting

After couple of months working on the final project, I am proud to say that my images were finally on the exhibition wall. Amazing feeling to have your work exhibited. The series is about art and it is called Before the Painting. Basically I have created triptichs that tell a story about what happened before the artist created the masterpiece.

  1. Millie I have found your photographs as one of the strongest ones there. With your triptychs you have told the story of these painting so well. The images speak for them self that is what I like the most. My ultimate favour from this series is "The Girl with a Pearl Earring" I guess it is because it looks like the most difficult to recreate. You have done it so well, the lighting, the pose, the face impression are spot on. You should be so pound of your self! Well done

  2. millie you have came up with a great concept. These images are by far the best you have done. The Frida Kahlo series stands out to me the most-they look just like the real painting and did amazing with the lighting and editing. I thought the way you displayed your images worked really well with the black frames . You should be very proud of yourself you will make an amazing photographer and good luck

  3. Millie your idea was one of the most exciting and creative in the class. I was worried at first that the paintings wouldn't be recognisable and no one would understand however you perfectly picked the paintings as even someone like myself, who is not interested in paintings, could notice which paintings they were from your recreations. I think that the project wouldn't have worked as well without your idea to tell the story of how the paintings were made. I thought you hung the images well at the exhibition in lines of 3 however could have possibly been bigger. Overall, great exhibition space and final images.

  4. Millie your photographs are amazing and I felt that your images are one of the strongest ones there. The triptychs you produced tells and shows the story from the paintings so well. One of my favourite series was the scream images. I thought the way you have displayed your images well at the exhibition in a line of 3. however I also think that the images could have been bigger, but overall amazing final images.

  5. Amazing final images, creating brilliant series that display the story so well. It is a great idea to show the development of the painting. The final images represent the famous paintings amazingly. The presentation in the exhibition was brilliant however, you could have had them bigger. well done :D

  6. mills, well done for being able to do this challenging final major project. Your final images speak for themselves. you chose great masterpieces that were recognisable. Your editing finally made the images brilliant. My only bad comment will be that i felt the images were lost on the huge wall, they could have been bigger to really show them off.
